Vibha's Story

Vibha Ghei, Vice President – Enterprise Risk, Compliance & Control at BNY, has become a standout industry volunteer at Apps for Good, offering consistent and meaningful support to student teams year after year.

With a strong commitment to encouraging young people in tech, Vibha has often reviewed every Showcase entry submitted, providing detailed and constructive feedback that not only helps students refine their app ideas but also boosts their confidence through thoughtful encouragement. Her dedication was recognised in 2023, when she was named Volunteer of the Year.

In 2024, Vibha further demonstrated her advocacy for inclusivity in tech by joining Apps for Good’s Girls in ICT Day panel, where she shared insights on supporting more girls and young women to pursue careers in digital and technology.

Reflecting on her experience, Vibha describes volunteering with Apps for Good as deeply fulfilling, saying it gave her a “sense of purpose and happiness.” She believes her contributions made a real difference to students, and she strongly values the role of industry engagement in education. “It not only helps them in building connections and networking but also helps them in developing specific skills at an early age,” Vibha shared.

She also highlighted the creativity and drive she’s witnessed from students: “This is one of the most rewarding volunteering opportunities one can ever come across, as it’s full of ideas from the next generation who are much more imaginative, creative, and raring to go.”
