We recently partnered with Salesforce to gather a diverse range of young people and Salesforce employees to tackle the issue of plastic pollution in the oceans using technology.

An exciting App in a Day workshop was co-delivered by Apps for Good and Salesforce Experts. The day was an opportunity for students to collaborate with professionals, and to use the skills they’ve developed through the course in a real-world context. Since the Ocean Plastics Day, several teams have gone on to work with Salesforce volunteers to develop their ideas further.

The LEGO Group

We recently partnered with The LEGO Group to power the Digital Explorers Category at the Apps for Good Awards.

The category celebrated student innovators aged 13 and under. On the Awards Day, student finalists pitched and showcased their changemaking app ideas to a Dragons Den made up of Judges from The LEGO Group. In the run-up to the Awards, volunteers from The LEGO Group provided gudiance in the form of Expert volunteers, and helped select the Finalists as part of Shortlisting. On the morning of the Awards Day, students visited The LEGO Group offices for a creative play workshop with employees, and to get feedback on their ideas.

We've partnered with Spotify to deliver the Rising Stars Category at the 2018 Awards. They've also supported our diversity initiatives and helped us engage students beyond the course via The Fellowship.

The Rising Stars Category celebrated student innovators aged 13-16. Spotify has provided Judges for our Awards Day, as well as accelerator sessions where get feedback on their ideas before the Awards. Volunteers from Spotify have also provided Expert volunteers, and have helped select our Awards Finalists. Our Partnership began with The Fellowship, providing opportunities for students beyond the course. Our work together has had a particular focus on diversity and engaging students from a range of backrounds.
