What is your product and who is it for?

This is an app that teaches young children how to turn recyclable materials into fun and crafty art projects which aims to reduce the amount of waste that people are left with every day of their lives

What inspired your idea, and why is it important to you?

Our idea came to us because there are lots of people who enjoy doing activities related to arts and crafts, such as origami, and we thought that it would be a great idea to use spare bits of cardboard or plastic things like that to create something fun and decorative!

How does your product solve the problem?

Eco-Crafts resolves the issue of excessive waste from resources like cards, papers or plastic that people constantly produce. This is efficient since all of the materials are available in every household. It’s especially convenient because it encourages young children so that the idea of being environmentally friendly is ingrained into their minds throughout their lives.

How does it work?

Our app works by giving out rewards for every craft which you complete. These rewards are points, known as Craft Cash (CC), and are used to purchase accessories from the rewards shop to decorate Sammy, our app’s mascot. From this, you will be left with an eco-friendly decoration rather than a plain cereal box without any remaining purpose.

People should vote for us because we've noticed a pattern of people who come from an Asian heritage are underrepresented. We want to change that. Our team members are from different parts of Asia and we want to act as role models for young children and inspire them to reach for their aspirations, regardless of their origin.
