My marketing career started in technology 15 years ago when I got my first break; a job in Billing Systems. I proved my worth and a year later was running their marketing. Next I moved on to the buzz of Streaming Media in the midst of the dot.com boom. We ran big tradeshows all over the world, and I was driving sales and sponsorship for our most commercially successful event in London. I also helped launch a new event in Berlin and Streaming Media Europe Magazine. At the end of 2000 we sold the company for $65M.
Then under my own consultancy banner, I built up an array of tech clients from ISPs to online Publishers and launched brands and websites for close to 5 years. In 2007, I became Head of Marketing at Geo, a fibre optic network provider where I helped increase revenues from £5M to £19M which led to the company’s acquisition for £62M in 2008. The same year, I also launched the brand for a £100M EU funded network called FibreSpeed in Wales.
In 2009, I was selected to take part in a Round the World Yacht race in 2010 which was an unbelievable experience. When I returned, I successfully sourced partners for O2’s much coveted award winning Priority Moments Rewards Programme and also for Lloyds’s Contactless Payment launch in 2011 . In the last year, I’ve been spearheading marketing at software company Marmalade, a cross-platform tool used to make mobile games like Call of Duty and Draw Something. I also helped launch UTuneMe to market, a clever new radio app which uses smartphone tech to deliver audio ads targeted to listener's location and interests.
