Antonis is an ICT engineer with 10 years of experience on applied research and development on mobile and wireless communication systems. He is a Senior Engineer at Cyprus Research and Innovation Center (CyRIC).

He has recently completed postdoctoral project AUTOWINFI (Autonomic Wireless Networks for the Future Internet) at KIOS Research Center (Uni.Cyprus), while he has received the PhD degree from the Centre for Communication Systems Research (CCSR, Uni.Surrey, UK) and a first-class honours Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering (Dipl-Ing) from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA, Greece). Since 2008, he has independently taught various telecommunications and computer engineering courses at OUC, UNIC, and CUT, at undergraduate and graduate level.

Antonis was the mentor of team gir@askw for the International Student Competition ennovation 2012 , which ranked 2nd overall and 1st from Cyprus. The team is now working on EVGIRASKO project to commercialise the winning idea of an assistive mobile application and cloud platform for Alzheimer’s patients and their carers. Antonis is also a volunteer of IEEE Young Professionals (GOLD) Cyprus group and a supporter of Startup Cyprus movement, aspiring to change the culture and mentality of his and younger generations from “apathy and idleness” to “entrepreneurship and innovation”.
