Meet Our Three New Trustees
We’re very excited to be welcoming three new trustees to our board this spring. Between them, they bring a wealth of expertise from the education and technology sectors and will be helping Apps for Good to pursue our vision of a world where all young people have the skills to create a brighter future through technology.
Kristy Evers, Catherine Lane and Savanna Sullivan will join existing trustees Emma Darcy, James Garnett, Rebecca-Garrod Waters, Mark Martin MBE , Mohima Ahmed and Marc Abraham. Learn a bit more about our new trustees, their backgrounds and their motivations for joining Apps for Good below.
Catherine has worked in the education sector for over 20 years, providing communications and PR support to EdTech suppliers, charities, schools and universities. She is hoping to bring her experience in brand building to help raise the profile of Apps for Good.
Catherine shared why she’s looking forward to joining Apps for Good as a trustee: “Apps for Good offers the type of learning experience that is not always prioritised in the curriculum but is much more closely aligned to the world of work and how we operate outside of school. The courses can ignite a passion for learning in a student who may have never had the chance to shine in a maths or physics lesson but whose skills come to the fore when they are expected to think of new ways to solve a problem. I love that about the courses.”
Kristy is an education researcher and evaluator with over ten years’ experience spanning EdTech, evaluation, and senior leadership. She is a Director at ImpactEd Evaluation, having previously held senior roles leading evaluation delivery across charities, government, universities, and EdTech organisations. She is also a trustee of the Charity Evaluation Working Group and a governor at a local primary school. Earlier in her career, Kristy worked in research impact in a HE SaaS start-up and as a researcher at a major educational publishing company, leading product evaluations that informed product and sales strategy. She is passionate about translating rigorous evidence into actionable insight for decision-makers.
Kristy is excited to take on the role of trustee at Apps for Good as she is passionate about ensuring young people are prepared for the future: not just by developing their technical skills but more importantly by developing their critical thinking skills and their sense of belonging and community. She will be bringing her 10+ years experience in education, impact and evaluation to the role, aiming to help Apps for Good continue to improve its impact measurement approach.
Savanna was first introduced to Apps for Good in 2016 while taking part in one of our courses as a student. She went on to join Accenture's Digital and Technology Solutions Degree Apprenticeship programme back in 2018. Since then she has worked in a variety of technology consulting roles, and has been working in tech sales for the past 5 years across all industries and technologies. Her interests span digital workplace, data and AI, FinOps, and learning and development, with a strong focus on nurturing early talent and shaping the future workforce.
Savanna said, "I chose to join Apps for Good as a trustee as I have seen first-hand how transformative it can be to learn about the power of tech for good! I am excited to bring my lived experience from participating in the course myself in 2016, experience in partnerships and learning and development initiatives."
