What is your product and who is it for?
It’s an app designed to eliminate language barriers and help immigrants or people aiming to learn English.
What inspired your idea, and why is it important to you?
It’s important to us because we relate to immigrants who move to other countries with a different native language than ours. At first we had difficulty understanding the Scottish accent but we have gotten used to it. Several do not have this privilege and often remain unable to communicate properly, which is why we made Verba.
How does your product solve the problem?
It could solve the problem by helping people who are struggling to have an easy time adapting to a country. It could also reduce risks of depression since the users will not only be able to understand the language but they will also be able to make friends and feel more included in conversations.
How does it work?
Verba has three stages: Beginner, Amateur and Pro. With each stage, the user will be given a series of questions relating to how well they know the language.

We feel people should vote for us because a language barrier is an issue people rarely think about or even mention. We have yet to hear of any others addressing the issue and we think it's highly underrated.
