What is your product and who is it for?
My project is an application intended to educate teenagers about knife crime and cyberbullying.
What inspired your idea, and why is it important to you?
I observed that most young people are unaware of how to deal with knife crime and cyberbullying. I was driven to tackle this serious issue that impacts my own peers, and believed I could make a change in my community. I thought to myself 'what if my peers were taught to recognise the danger before messages or split-second decisions destroyed their whole life?', and this is why I developed an educational resource to help raise awareness and ensure safety.
How does your product solve the problem?
It's an effective way to warn and educate teens which makes the message stick so they take it seriously, and will end all the tragic outcomes of teens caused by a lack of awareness and education.
How does it work?
I designed a knowledge building app that incorporates specific information, real-life scenarios and quizzes to make learning memorable and engaging. Importantly, it includes a database where teens can share comments and questions, allowing us to analyse trends and provide more effective solutions. The idea was to make learning easy and applicable, enabling students to understand the risks and effects of knife crime and cyberbullying, and use data to help us further understand the situations of teens.

Why vote for StaySafe?
People should vote for my project because I'm passionate about making a real difference in young people's lives. My app tackles serious issues like knife crime, cyberbullying, and safety in a way that's actually relatable and easy to understand for teens. The content is reliable and detailed, not just generic advice. I'm not just building an app — I'm creating something that could genuinely keep teens safe and make them feel supported. StaySafe is a team that cares.
