What is your product and who is it for?
Our app helps 14 to 24-year-olds gain work experience by connecting them with job opportunities, teaching them how to create strong CVs, and preparing them with important skills for the real world. It empowers young people to start earning money and build their careers confidently.
What inspired your idea, and why is it important to you?
We were inspired by our own desire to find a job, earn money, and gain work experience to better prepare for the future. We believe this app is important because many young people face the same challenges, and it can help them confidently start their careers and build essential skills early on. We recognise widespread job search challenges and have developed a solution to positively impact lives. We believe some teenagers struggle to find a job, and also like the idea of getting job experience and learning how to earn money at a young age.
How does your product solve the problem?
Our app helps students who aren’t academically inclined to gain valuable work experience and industry-ready skills without needing university. It offers an affordable, practical alternative by connecting users with real-world jobs and qualifications, empowering them to build successful careers in environments they enjoy and can afford, improving their future opportunities. It solves laziness, teaches them how to get a job and gives teenagers and young adults very valuable job experience. It provides greater access to job opportunities for individuals who might otherwise face barriers in the job search process.
How does it work?
The app contains a CV builder which streamlines CV creation with built-in formatting. All that is required is that the person answers a few questions and the app spits out a high quality CV. In addition there is a map (like Google Maps) that shows jobs in the search area and which fit the user's requirements. All the user has to do is filter by industry, hours and their age and they can find a perfect job or apprenticeship for them.
