What is your product and who is it for?
Luton Go is an interactive, fitness-focused mobile game designed for everyone of all ages to discover the history of Luton while staying active and having fun.
What inspired your idea, and why is it important to you?
Our main inspiration was a shared desire to give back to our community and help people truly understand the real history of Luton. The concept came from playing Pokémon GO, which gave us the idea to create a similar, location-based interactive experience tailored to our hometown.
How does your product solve the problem?
Many people don't know much about Luton's history, so we wanted to make learning about our heritage fun and interactive! Luton Go is a game, a history guide, and a healthy walking tour all in one. It encourages people to get active by visiting local landmarks, tracking their steps, and competing on a leaderboard. Ultimately, it brings our community closer together and helps everyone feel proud of where they live.
How does it work?
Users begin by selecting a character, then use on-screen arrows to navigate towards local landmarks. Tapping on a landmark unlocks fascinating historical facts, allowing users to discover and learn on the go.
Key features include: 1. A coin counter rewards system to track progress. 2. An integrated step counter and competitive leaderboard. 3. AI Integration: We plan to introduce "AI Missions" centered around a Smart City theme, which will gamify lessons on digital citizenship and online safety.
