What is your product and who is it for?
Just Own It is an app for anyone who wants to get more use out of the clothes they already own, or no longer like anymore, by discovering new outfit ideas instead of buying more clothes.
What inspired your idea, and why is it important to you?
We were inspired by how many people buy new clothes even when they already have items they rarely wear. Fast fashion creates huge amounts of waste, so we wanted to help people get more use out of their wardrobes while being helpful to the planet whilst they're at it.
How does your product solve the problem?
Fast fashion creates a huge amount of waste, as many people buy new clothes because they struggle to style clothes they already own that go out of trend then straight to landfill. Just Own It helps create new outfits from the clothes they already have instead of buying new pieces that they see online, encouraging styling clothes not throwing them!
How does it work?
Users upload images of their outfits and then attach an image of their wardrobe. The app suggests themes for the outfit and options of items that they may want to include, or are struggling to style. After the outfit will be analysed by AI, and an item or outfit combinations will be suggested from their wardrobe to fit the theme chosen.
