What is your product and who is it for?

Our product is a safe social media platform for disadvantaged musicians.

What inspired your idea, and why is it important to you?

We were inspired to create Concert Lane after seeing how difficult it is to get involved in the music industry, especially for young people from poorer backgrounds. It is important that we challenge this because it means that some people don’t have opportunities to pursue the career they want.

How does your product solve the problem?

Our app helps to promote new music from new and upcoming music artists in a positive and safe community. We will release a monthly newsletter on the app which will help musicians who aren’t getting enough recognition to make a living and get popular. Unlike other music streaming services, we will make uploading very simple and free of charge, while still regulating to make sure all content is safe and beneficial to our app’s community (for example stopping spam uploading).

How does it work?

Concert Lane is a social media music streaming app. The main aspect of the app will be that all content is uploaded by the community. However, what makes it different from other streaming services is that we will be directly involved in promoting and celebrating music from our app’s community - especially from artists who are finding it hard to make a living off of their music. There will be a part on the app where you can watch live, online concerts from our musicians. There will also be an option to donate money to the musicians, which could be life-changing for some people in need of money.

Why vote for Concert Lane?

Voting for Concert Lane will directly involve you in the fight for equality in the music industry. If our app gets developed, it will help many musicians finally earn enough money to live off. It is unjust that people are unable to work their dream job as a musician for fear of not succeeding or having to work multiple jobs on the side. This type of app is needed in society to make the music industry easier for anyone, no matter their upbringing, to get involved in.
