We’re excited to welcome two new trustees to our Board. Mohima Ahmed and Marc Abraham join our Chair, Iris Lapinski and Trustees, Andrea Sinclair and Valerie Hannon, together with our Council Members and Advisors.
The new appointments ensure Apps for Good continues to draw expertise from a diverse board of trustees, with wide-ranging expertise to help ensure the charity is fair, open and inclusive. We’re already seeing the benefit of Mohima and Marc’s experience in our mission to ensure all young people have the tech innovation skills to thrive in an ever-changing world.
Mohima, a former Apps for Good student and former Council Member has first hand experience of the impact of our work. Now working within the tech sector for private equity firm, Motive Create, and as co-founder of FitBoard, an app to support boards of directors in their self-coaching towards ever better board practice. Mohima said “Apps for Good has, without a doubt, changed the course of my career by introducing me to an industry I didn’t even know existed. I’m very humbled and excited to join the board and help support the organisation to continue to do this for the next generation, especially young women.”
Marc is a highly experienced product management leader, having worked for a number of successful digital organisations, from startups to established businesses. He currently is a Senior Group Product Manager at Intercom where he focuses on automating customer support. Marc said “I’m hugely honoured and excited to be joining Apps for Good as a trustee. It’s never been more important for students to have exposure to new technologies coupled with essential business skills and I’m delighted I can contribute to the excellent opportunities Apps for Good provides for young people of all backgrounds.”
Iris Lapinski, Founder and Chair of Apps for Good welcomed Mohima and Marc to the Board by saying, “ I’m delighted to welcome these two wonderful trustees to Apps for Good. Marc is passionate about using his expertise to bring opportunities to young people in challenging circumstances and Mohima, having previously lived the Apps for Good experience herself, is now giving back to the next generation of purpose driven tech entrepreneurs through helping to shape the Apps for Good strategy at Board level.”
