Safe Nav uses UK police data to help you navigate your streets with confidence.
The app was created by Joshua, Rikardo, Ijahmar and Callum in their Apps for Good course at Shireland Collegiate Academy in the West Midlands. As urban teenagers surrounded by media about high crime rates and gangs, the team wanted to help others take control of their city streets by giving them access to real data.
Safe Nav won the Connected Communities category sponsored by TalkTalk at the Apps for Good Awards 2014, the national competition for Apps for Good students. As an Apps for Good Awards winner, the team worked with development agency Codeten Ltd to have their app built professionally and launched on to the market, with the support of Apps for Good and TalkTalk.
